I was so thrilled to be the photographer at the wedding of Ina & Andrew yesterday. I have got to know and made friends with Ina over the last two years as we have studied together, and found her to be so open, funny, generous and upsettingly talented so it was a real honour that she asked me to photograph what turned out to be a lovely & emotional day.
The ceremony was held at the sumptuous Westover Hall Hotel where Ina and Andrew married in a really beautiful ceremony, followed by a meal there. Andrew scored some serious brownie points by reading a love poem he had written for Ina in her native Norwegian tongue. Ina wore a beautiful 50’s-style dress which she has accessorised herself, and Andrew rose to the occasion in a cream summer suit (hang on, sounding a bit like Hello Magazine here, suffice to say they both looks gorgeous). Their two children made the loveliest bridesmaids, and also the most photogenic kids ever – she has them well trained.
Ina is an amazing photographer (see here), so I confess to being really nervous on the day, but she was so gracious in allowing me to do my thing, and their guests were as friendly and warm as they are. The Westover Hall is a fantastic venue – not least for the access to the beach from the garden, perfect to let younger guests let off a bit of steam.
After the meal, guests were invited back to Ina & Andrew’s beautiful house in the New Forest where the party continued in the garden and marquee – beautifully decorated with lanterns and lights, giving the garden a quite magical feel. Props must go to Melanie Kiani and her team from Belissimo Wedding Planners who pulled this whole day together without seeming the slightest bit ruffled – I would love to have even half the organisational abilities of this lady!
Thank you so much for letting me be part of your fantastic day, Ina & Andew. It really did feel like a privilege to be there, I hope you feel the images I made reflect the day as it was.. xxx
