All week the forecast has been warning us of rain, of thunder & lightning to come, of, well, a bit of a washout of a wedding day. This, as we have learned, matters not a jot – because weddings aren’t about sunlight hours or building the tan. They are about two people standing up in front of the world and saying ‘this is my person. The one I would follow to the ends of the earth & back. The one who represents the best of my past and all of my future’; and that means everything come rain or shine. But today the sun did shine on Amy & Tom as they made those promises today at the Norton park Hotel in front of dozens of faces from different parts of their lives, all united in caring for them, and in being there at the start of their big adventure.
Thank you for letting me be there, too.
