Louisa & AJ got married yesterday, and what a day it was! Louisa’s mum had planned so hard for this day (her second daughter to be married in under a year – give this woman a medal!), and all her hard work paid such dividends at home, at beautiful St Thomas Church in Salisbury, and at the incredibly Christmassy Penton Park.
Louisa & her bridesmaids got ready at home with her bridesmaids, and Mum & Dad, Gerry & Alison, who were such wonderful hosts. Louisa’s silk gown was the star of the show today – I forgot to ask the designers name, but it flowed like water around her all day. You can quite understand the crowds in busy Salisbury cheering & applauding when she arrived in her vintage Bentley. Including the kid in awesome Christmas pudding jumper. Props to him.
St Thomas’ church is hands down my favourite church in Britain. From the light filling the church to the breathtaking doom painting, its quite beautiful to be there – and I confess to feeling all a bit emotional when the choir sang. After doing the deed they exited to a guard of honour (AJ is in the forces), before being drowned in confetti & heading to Penton Park, which has been transformed into a Christmas refuge from the cold by Danielle & her brilliant team there, and by the massively talented Bramble & Wild.
Ministry of food were on hand to keep us warm & fed, a magician to keep us entertained, a brilliant DJ played basically all the songs I love – making it to impossible to leave , and the speeches were as they should be – warm and full of stories (and one most excellent practical joke).
So huge thank you to Gerry & Alison, to the Penton Park Massive (so happy to have joined you there at last!), to Ministry of Food, to what can only be the official Armed Forces Party Troupe for those killer moves, and of course to Louisa & AJ, for trusting me to record their day. I hope you like your previews, lovelies! xxx
