Sophie & Al’s Larmer Tree wedding

Sophie & Al’s Larmer Tree wedding

Okay, so not entirely sure where to start with this one…   Possibly by saying how badass the new Mrs Julius is.  I mean look at her, that confidence, fun and attitude you are seeing is a joy to shoot. I’ve shot Soph a number of times of the years for different projects, but her own wedding was in another league.  She was wearing a killer Rue de Seine gown (have wanted to shoot one of these fo EVA), with a cape she had made because, well, look at it.  100% Sophie.  They got ready in the town of Shaftesbury, before heading to the exquisite Larmer Tree  – a venue I have wanted to shoot at since I started this job, but the stars have never quite aligned, and it didn’t disappoint. I loved it.
Al & his boys  got ready in Southampton (and thanks to second shooter Minah for covering that).
They got married in a beautiful outdoor space on a beautifully sunny day – what more can a photographer ask for?  Oh yeah, a cape that blew in the wind & made even a walk to the bar super dramatic.  Well, I got that too. I also got to see familiar faces from previous weddings (shout out to Sarah & Roisin, and Amy  yet again  – basically Amy is my wedding mascot this year), which made the day so relaxed & fun.  And I must give a huge shout out to Gail at Larmer Tree who was so warm & friendly, and made us so welcome – the food was INCREDIBLE.   The stunning pampas grass installations were from Owen at Little Lillies – a really different choice which made the beautiful eating space at Larmer into a plantation style place of calm.  Well, until all the guests got in there…
The evening was long a warm, and the dance floor was kicking off with Al on his MC duties – even with Gabriel on his shoulders (he is part of the garage band Artful Dodger), which I loved (even though the fact I was listening to Michael Bolton on the way there without a trace of irony indicates that this isn’t my normal music), the dance floor was electric.
So yeah, a pretty damn amazing day, which at its core was Sophie & Al, and their children, and their friends, and how fiercely loved they all are.  Thank you so much for letting me be part of it.

If you are having a Larmer Tree wedding, I would love to talk to you, so get in touch!
