I am managing to ace this wedding season in terms of my couples. Today’s absolute superstars were Anuschka & Henry, who were married at St Cross Church and celebrated at Henry’s childhood home outside Winchester. And like the other couples before them this year, are just the loveliest people. So warm and kind hearted, and welcoming to every soul on their wedding day – and that this approach was the same with old friends and their suppliers, is a testament to their thoughtfulness. Henry’s mother Muriel welcomed us all for the most beautiful day – blue skies, amazing food (from McCrimmon & Reid), a riot of colour in the garden, and a blend of their Anglo-German traditions. There was such warmth directed at this couple from everyone there, I am surprised they didn’t need extra sunscreen 😉
After a delicious dinner and some really lovely & heartfelt speeches, we danced to tunes from DJ Simon (and while we are at it, can we just take a moment to check the atmosphere on the dance floor? Often people forget about how a marquee (here, from Intense Events) will look of an evening. The daytime looks was beautiful enough, with flowers by Beyond the Barn taking centre stage, but the disco lights really made the evening look equally impressive – and was music to this photographers eyes (new metaphor needed…) being able to work with those colours.
